Dune Real Estate Partners CEO Dan Neidich Shares His Expertise at Osher Partners' Event

September 27, 20242 min read

In a captivating event hosted by Osher Partners, industry veteran Dan Neidich, the CEO of Dune Real Estate Partners, shared his wealth of knowledge and insights on the ever-evolving real estate landscape. Neidick's extensive experience, spanning decades in the industry, provided attendees with a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

One of the standout moments was Neidick's reflection on his career transition from banking to principal investing. As he shared,

"I remember Hank Paulson, who I reported to for many years at Goldman Sachs, telling me, 'Well, I want you to give up the banking side and just concentrate on the principal side.' That was a pivotal moment in my career."

Neidick also delved into the differences between an AUM-focused model and a principal investment approach. He explained,

"We never really thought of ourselves as an AUM shop. At a bank like Goldman Sachs, the focus was on building a big enough business to generate significant profits and become a major player within the firm."

Addressing the political landscape in New York, Neidick highlighted the importance of considering the risks.

"I think the political risk is foremost in people's minds when it comes to investing in New York. Whether you like progressives or don't like progressives, I think it adds an element of risk," he explained.

Throughout the event, Neidick's candid insights and wealth of experience captivated the audience. His willingness to share his perspectives on investment strategies, market trends, and the evolving industry landscape serves as a valuable resource for industry professionals and aspiring real estate investors alike.

The event was one of many organized by Osher Partners, a nonprofit dedicated to creating and promoting targeted business and educational opportunities for New York City's Jewish business community. The organization is co-founded by Shaya Lesches, who continues to drive Osher Partern's mission. You can learn more about Shaya Lesches and his work at shayalesches.com.
